Connect your wireless controller to play supported games from Apple Arcade or the App Store, navigate your Apple TV, and more.

The tweaked version of the Remote Play app doesn’t natively support PS4 controller pairing, but there is a relatively easy fix. Grab a PS4 controller, and hold down the Share and PlayStation buttons, until the in-built light starts flashing. Open up your phone’s Bluetooth settings and search for new devices. PS Remote Play - Connect the Dualshock to the Android phone Press and hold the buttons Share and PS. This will put the controller in pairing mode. While in pairing mode, a white light will flash on the back of the Dualshock controller.

Microsoft and Apple are working together to bring compatibility for the Xbox Series X controller to customers in a future update.

Pair a controller with your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac

Use the instructions that came with your wireless controller to put it into pairing mode. Then learn how to pair a controller with your iOS or iPadOS device, Apple TV, or Mac.

Pairing mode steps, button controls, and button customization vary across game controllers. Check with your game controller manufacturer for details.

If your controller doesn't connect or work as expected

• Make sure that you have the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, or macOS.
• If you need to update the firmware on your controller, check with your game controller manufacturer.
• Check that you’re in range of your device and there isn’t interference in the area.
• If you still can't pair or connect, get help pairing your Bluetooth accessory to your iOS device.

A PS5 console or PS4 console is required for Remote Play.

With Remote Play, you can control your PlayStation® console remotely wherever you have a high-speed internet connection.
Using the [PS Remote Play] app, you can control your PlayStation®5 console or PlayStation®4 console from a device in a different location.
For example, you can use a computer in another room or a smartphone^* when you’re out to enjoy PS5™ and PS4™ games.

You can’t use Remote Play on your mobile device’s cellular data network. A high-speed Wi-Fi® network is required.

Restrictions

• Some games do not support Remote Play.
  Games that require peripherals such as PlayStation®VR or PlayStation®Camera aren’t compatible with Remote Play.

• You can’t use Remote Play on your PS5 console or PS4 console in the following situations:

  • When you’re using Share Screen or Share Play, or broadcasting your gameplay
  • When users are using Remote Play, Share Play, or Share Screen, or broadcasting their gameplay
  • When you’re playing a Blu-ray Disc™ or DVD
  • When you’re using PS VR in VR mode

• The following restrictions apply when using Remote Play:

  • You can’t use Share Screen or Share Play, or broadcast your gameplay.
  • You can’t play a Blu-ray Disc™ or DVD.
  • You can’t play music with Spotify®.
  • Some or all video content might not be displayed on your device depending on the game or video service.
